Even though I consider myself a "seasoned" collector, I have always been intimidated by the Washington/Franklins. Thanks to this site, I have the confidence I need to tackle my 30 year accumulation of these issues! This is the best tool on the entire web concerning these issues. Welcome to the home page of CompuChet Cachets.  My name is Helen and I have been making first day covers since 1994.  I was sidetracked for a couple of years but now I regularly make covers for the stamps that I like.  I also have made show covers and cancels for the stamp clubs that I belong to.

Stamps of Russia and the ex-Soviet Union demonstrate collectors turbulent period of  native land. The Soviet and Russian post offices differ in variety and urgency of subjects. Soviet stamps tend to be more political in nature, and have good selection of topical. Recent Russian stamps are more artistic and cover subjects forbidden for many years such as Czar Nicolas II and the Church. Russia continues to issue great Space, and nature topical of superior quality.

The National Postal Museum

Click on the image above to visit one of the best stamp sites on the Web! Definetly a "must see" for any collector interested in German issues. Much of what I know about German Philately was obtained from this site and it is a pleasure to include this as my first (and possibly best) German link! Not just great images, but a real lesson in history. Easy navigation and logical ordering procedures. I hope that someday this site is as well organized!
